Awards
Awarded for our achievements
We expect only the best from ourselves at Treloar’s, and we regularly monitor how we’re doing in all areas of the school. Managers keep a close eye on staff performance, while teachers, therapists, care and nursing staff keep careful records of our students’ progress.
Our work is not only recognised in official statistics – we also put students and staff forward for various awards. As a school, we have several nationally-recognised awards under our belt.
In 2005 we were awarded the coveted Sportsmark Gold Award in recognition of our commitment to promoting the benefits of physical activity and school sport.
At the end of 2008 we won two awards in PE. We were recognised for 'Excellence in Disability Sport' in the Daily Telegraph / Norwich Union 'School Sport Matters' awards, and also picked up an 'Innovation in Sport' award from the Youth Sports Trust for the work done with Demand Engineering to develop boccia ramps.
Every year we nominate students for the Alton Sports Council Awards, and many go on to be nominated for Hampshire sports awards. Our Head of PE has earned several awards for her immense contribution to sport for the disabled.
