Fundraising students to give hope to a Ugandan child

22 February 2012

A group of students have been working with some drama students from Winchester University, with the theme of their improvised drama activities being poverty in India and Africa.

As a result of this, the students are taking part in a production in Winchester, the proceeds of which will go to children in Uganda.

The students had a visit from former Treloar’s teacher Kate Tolhurst who told them about the charity where she now works in Uganda called the New Hope Centre.

The students decided they wanted to help raise funds to enable a poor Ugandan child to go to school and they have bought some wristbands, which they intend to sell to support this project.

The wristbands have been printed with the words ‘Treloar’s for New Hope’ and they will be available to buy around the campus.
