Students take the reading challenge
27 January 2012
Treloar's students are signing up for the Six Book Challenge, which is a national initiative designed to get everyone reading.
Over the next six months, students will select and read six pieces of reading material eg books, magazines, newspapers, poems, etc while keeping a record in a diary.
They can also chat to others about their reading on Treloar's intranet Moodle or even start their own blog.
At the end of the period, on June 29 during the students' Friday Live assembly, everyone will receive a certificate, and there will also be prizes to be won.
It is hoped that those who lack confidence in reading or do not read very often will take up the challenge, and there will be support along the way for anyone who needs it, as well as reading groups and creative activities in the Learning Resources Centre.
