Counselling at Treloar College
A problem shared…
At Treloar’s, we think emotional health is just as important as physical health and academic achievement. Treloar College is a busy and stimulating environment and students arrive here at an important time in their personal development.
Inevitably all students have highs and lows – friendships, their health and that of others, studying and family issues can all be sources of joy or concern. So we want you to always feel there is someone you can talk to.
Residential support staff in halls of residence are trained to support you , so you can talk to someone there if you have any concerns.
You can also talk to someone in our Peer Support Group. Made up of students from across the College, they have been trained by the counselling team, and are always on hand to talk to in confidence.
If you prefer to talk to someone a bit more removed from your day-to-day environment, we also have four part-time counsellors who are all experienced in working with young people. You can approach a counsellor directly or ask a member of staff to arrange something on your behalf. The counselling team includes a GP with a special interest in adolescent mental health.
