Developing Relationships

Emotional support and sensitive advice

Exploring our feelings for each other and making (or possibly breaking off) friendships are all part of growing up. People often start their first relationships at college and it is important to know that there are staff here to turn to if any questions or concerns arise.

SAFE (Sexuality and further education)

Everyone has the right to love and to be loved – and this brings with it adult responsibilities. We have a comprehensive policy on sexuality, developed by a counsellor, occupational therapist, residential support manager, teacher and parent. We review this regularly with input from student representatives.

The SAFE team, and others throughout the College, have been specially trained to help you with this important aspect of your life. They can give information to help you make decisions. Our policy is to support both you and your partner if you feel this is appropriate, and to offer guidance on practical and emotional issues.
