Families

Involving your parents and carers

At Treloar College, we treat our students as young adults, who are more than ready to make their own decisions. That said, parents and carers can play an important role in helping you achieve your goals. So where it’s appropriate we involve them as much as possible. Inevitably some families are more involved than others, and we work to find a balance that’s right for you.

Opportunities to involve your parents and guardians include:

  • Annual Review meetings and ‘parents, tutor and therapist meetings’ every term – where you have a chance to exchange information and discuss progress and future plans
  • Student reports, which are sent home once a year before the Annual Review meeting

We are also happy to hold a special meeting if there’s a particular need or change of circumstances. If you are a resident at Treloar College, but study part or full time at nearby Alton College, your family will also be invited to attend the Parents’ evening there.
