An important dimension to our support for some students
Educational psychologists are concerned with learning and behaviour, and particularly with children and young people with difficulties that may affect their educational progress and psychological development.
As with most of the support we offer at Treloar's, our educational psychologist (EP) works closely with other staff, parents, students and other organisations, and assesses each student individually, to see what kind of support they need.
They may observe the student in different situations within the School to build up a
picture of their daily life, and also work with them one-to-one away from the classroom. Knowing the kind of situations that difficulties occur in, and understanding the perceptions of those who know a student well, helps our EP to recommend the most effective and appropriate ways to resolve difficulties.
