Congratulations to all the Team Treloar’s runners who completed the London Marathon yesterday. The 11-strong team have helped raise over £18,000 for Treloar School and College.

The weather was cool and overcast which made for a great run, and the atmosphere around the course was electric thanks to the thousands of spectators, and amplified by the publicity around Paula Radcliff’s last race and a hotly contested wheelchair marathon to kick the whole thing off. The Treloar’s ...cheering station and supporters were in good voice too and helped the team around the course.

The first to cross the line for Treloar’s was Tom Clayson who completed the route in 3:30 but the fact that all made it round is a fantastic achievement. Director of Fundraising Jon Colville said: “We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our runners for the hours of training they put in, the pain and blisters they have endured and the remarkable sum of money they have raised through their sponsorships. I would like to thank them for all their dedication and hard work – they really do make an enormous difference to the lives of our young students.”

The ballot for the 2016 London Marathon opens on 4 May and is expected to be full within a matter of hours, with the results being announced in October. If you would like to run for Treloar’s, either through a ballot place or with one of the Treloar’s Charity places, please register your interest by contacting claire.kercher@treloar.org.uk.
