Where your money goes
We know that when you make a donation, it's always good to be able to see where your money goes and understand how your support has helped.
We always have an ambitious number of exciting projects that need your help and support. Here are some examples of what we are able to achieve thanks to your generosity.
Giving students a voice
One in three students at Treloar's has little, or no natural speech. Without the help of specialist communication equipment they can't fully participate in lessons, socialise with friends or keep in touch with their families. AAC equipment bought by you will help our students to find their voices.
The right wheels
IMPact (Independent Mobility Project) gives grants to Treloar's students to help them get a more suitable wheelchair. The right wheelchair is essential for comfort, mobility and self-esteem and can cost up to £15,000. Your donations mean IMPact can help put many more students in the driving seat.
Pushing the boundaries
During our annual ‘Pushing the Boundaries' adventure students are encouraged, often for the first time, to try activities previously out of reach like rock climbing and sailing. Imagine how liberating it is to abseil in your wheelchair! Thank you for this special treat.
Sport for everyone
Disability sport is one reason many students choose Treloar's. Some students will go all the way to the Paralympics. Others take part simply for fun. Our Sports Fund, supported by our friends, enables students to try new sports and gives grants to individuals for training and competitions.
Everyday equipment for independence
Limited mobility can make many everyday tasks, like making a cup of tea, cleaning your teeth, or turning on the lights, really hard work. Thanks to you, we can provide special equipment such as kettle tippers, adjustable-height washbasins and remote controls for operating lights, heating controls and curtains, so students can do more for themselves.
