Pushing the boundaries

Taking our students further than ever before

Our students are used to hearing; "No, you can’t do that."

That’s why, wherever we can, we tell them; "Yes, you can!"

Our exciting new study trips give our students a rare chance to try activities they thought were forever out of their reach.

Pushing the Boundaries Study Trips

Our students spend a week at centres in Exmoor or Cornwall tasting fear and exhilaration - closely followed by relief and pride at having survived! Here they can climb, ride horses, sail, canoe and abseil – often in their wheelchairs.

But it’s not all wild adventure. Our trips also have a strong educational aspect, often linked to the National Curriculum.

The boost to our young people’s confidence and self-esteem is beyond measure. It impacts all parts of their lives. Staff and parents all say they can see increased confidence, improved communication skills, a renewed sense of purpose and greater independence.

In its first year we offered this invaluable experience to just 25 students, the next year we doubled that number. But we need your help to keep expanding.

It costs us £1,000 to send one student on a week-long trip.

You can open a young person’s eyes to the thrill of living. To find out more call us on 01420 547 477 or email fundraising@treloar.org.uk.

"My daughter was enthralled by the trip. I have never seen her so animated and eager to communicate. Thank you for masterminding the great adventure."
