Seconded therapy
Treloar College offers seconded therapeutic services on an outreach basis to provide part-time therapy for students with learning difficulties and disabilities, at other colleges. We work closely with Totton, a mainstream college on the edge of the New Forest and Guildford College in Surrey, to offer a range of non-residential programmes for the students with complex disabilities.
This much needed new service started with a pilot scheme that offered various assessments in mainstream Further Education Colleges. Its success led to extending the project to other areas of the region. In turn this developed into a pilot for a seconded therapy team who now undertake outreach work at Totton College and Guildford College, Surrey.
We are also working in partnership with Westgate College in Kent and NCYPE in to support them in establishing a similar service.
