Working together to secure a sustainable future

Since the founding of Treloar's more than 100 years ago, the organisation has gone through many developments. We have seen the foundation of the Hospital and College in the 1900s, the acquisition of the Froyle estate in the 1950s, the move to the co-education in the 1970s - and now, 100 years later, we look forward yet again.

Vision Treloar’s will establish one nationally recognised centre of expertise, which is the hub of all Treloar’s education, support and other services for young disabled people.  

The Vision will re-locate the School and Trust, currently based at Froyle, to our College site at Holybourne, to share expert teams and to smooth the transition for students as they grow from children to young adults. The current School site is costly to maintain and difficult to adapt for our students’ needs. We will sell the School site and new facilities will be built and the existing infrastructure improved at College for our younger students. Co-location is an economically sound and efficient way to use our resources and will provide an even better level of support to all our students.

However, Vision Treloar’s is more than just a building programme. It is a new way of working. There are many ways in which we are already making progress with our Vision:

• Joint curriculum planning      
• Transition planning from education to independent adulthood
• Reaching into the wider community through extended services such as Treloar’s Direct
• Improving our links within the South
• Developing employability and the World of Work

Treloar’s strives to provide the best possible opportunities and support for our students and the community beyond. Our Vision will allow us to continue this important work.
