Alton College Partnership
Treloar College has a successful and long-established partnership with our Outstanding local sixth form, Alton College. This partnership is unique in its offer of Level 2 (GCSE) and A Level studies for disabled young people in a mainstream environment. Students are generally required to meet the standard entrance requirements for such courses, normally five or more GCSEs (or equivalent) at C (4) Grade or better for an Advanced Level course. For more information on Alton College, please visit their website by clicking here.
Treloar’s students will normally attend the Treloar’s campus for the core of their curriculum which is likely to include therapy, independence skills and enrichment. We provide transport to Alton College to attend classes with mainstream students and Treloar’s students are supported both in, and outside, their classes by a team of dedicated and specialist Learning Support Assistants who will also carry out any personal care required.
Treloar’s partnership approach allows bespoke timetables to be developed. Some students may choose to study courses both at Treloar’s and Alton College. The focus of this strand is on educational attainment and independence training that may lead to further study at university or other forms of higher education, employment or voluntary working.
