The sun finally made an appearance on Sunday, just in time for the 2017 Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100. After Saturday’s downpour the skies were clear on Sunday morning, and the roads mercifully dry as some 24,000 riders started the Ride100, the first wave rolling out of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park at 05:45.
Team Treloar’s was well represented by Ian, James, Katie, Lee and Rudi who all completed the route in between 6-8 hours – extremely good going given the amount of bike, distance and hills involved.
There were quite a few sore legs on Monday after the 100mile journey, which includes the two highest peaks in Surrey at Leith Hill and Box Hill. The route follows the path of the Olympic course established at the 2012 Olympics and is part of the “London Classics Series” which includes the London Marathon and Swim Serpentine – definitely one for the bucket list!
Between them, they are on track to raise nearly £3,000 for the children and young people at Treloar’s, which is fantastic!! We would like to say a huge thank you for all the hard work and for everyone that supported them on the day.
