Food for Treloar's

This photo is of no ordinary plate of food, this is a tremendous Treloar's pureed plate of food! Everything on the plate is a puree and has the consistency of a mousse. It is specially created by our chefs who have used ordinary bread soaked in a tasteless solution which changes the consistency of the bread into a puree. Using an icing bag, the chefs carefully pipe pureed ham onto the bread, they follow this with piped cream cheese and finally they add the remaining slice of bread. The chocolate cake is made in a similar way. The side salad garnish is pureed tomato, cucumber and cheese.

This plated meal was done for Debbie, who celebrated her birthday yesterday and had a birthday party at which a buffet was served.

So that our students on pureed diets don’t miss out when we serve canapés, finger foods and buffets, we have developed some existing ways of making all of our food accessible to everyone. The second photo is of the pureed canapés recently served at our Willow Way opening ceremony; the canapés on the teaspoons are pureed version of the canapés beside them.
