Over forty students from Treloar School performed in our end of term summer show ‘The Lion King’ to sell out audiences.
There was much excitement backstage as students got ready for the show. They transformed into a variety of different animals such as elephants and zebras, giraffes and hyenas … and - of course - lions!
The final performances were the culmination of seven months’ hard work and students really demonstrated their talent – both as individual performers and as part of a team. With striking face paint and costumes on, and the spectacular live band Festival Brass to accompany them, the students thoroughly entertained and ‘wowed’ the audience.
The maypole dance for The Circle of Life demonstrated fantastic coordination and timing, while feet tapped along to the upbeat and positive song ‘Hakuna Matata’ and the audience swayed with torchlights to ‘Can You feel the Love tonight’. The audience booed the bad guy Scar (played by Joss) and cheered when Simba (played by Amy) gained the rightful place on the throne.
The whole show was full of energy, fun and talent, demonstrating once again that the sky is the limit in terms of what our students can do. A huge congratulations to all of the students who performed in the show, and to those who helped with ticket design, ticket sales, front of house and the AV on the night. A big thank you also to the many staff who worked extra hours to support the students in the show. All in all, a highly successful team performance!
