On Sunday 7th May over 260 eager walkers, runners and dogs participated in the annual St Swithun’s Walk and Run!
Participants could choose between the 5 mile route that finished at Bentley Primary School or brave the 10 mile route that came to an end at Farnham Park. The youngest participant was a 5 month old baby who completed the 5 mile event with the help of family members! The winner of the event Diego Maldonado, completed the 10 mile route in an incredible 1hr and 7mins!
With such an ambitious event there was a lot to be thankful for. Hildon supplied all the water, Fyffes provided all the bananas, Bentley Primary provided refreshments and Farnham Park Café provided their famous bacon butties, for those who completed the 10 mile route – which were very well received!
Treloar drivers, Keith, Boss Mark and Jonathan were also on hand throughout the day to provide transportation back to the Treloar’s campus for all those who completed the course. And even Mother Nature provided a less muddy experience than last year!
There were also a lot of canine participants. Visit https:// www.facebook.com/JMBFacebk/ to vote for your favourite furry four legged friend now!
The event raised over £3,500 and donations are still flowing in! The money will go towards supporting our students and enabling them to have a brighter more independent future.
