Work Experience

June 16, 2014 Back to news index

This year Treloar School have started to offer students in year 11 and above an opportunity to take part in external work experience. Our students have undertaken a variety of personalised experiences based on an assessment which focuses on their future aspirations. The placements are as diverse as Eagle Radio in Guildford providing educational workshops to six of our students interested in media to an elderly client group at a local community centre. Earlier this month, Alessandro enjoyed his work experience day at Aerobility, a registered charity founded in 1993 offering disabled people the opportunity to fly an aeroplane. Alessandro chose to fly over Treloar and London!

Work experience at both Treloar School and Treloar College is an opportunity to gain practical experience in the workplace, allowing the student to see and understand what a job entails and helps employers understand the needs of disabled young people in the workplace. It is also an opportunity for the students to improve their understanding of what it is like working in a real business.

Treloar’s always looks for new employers to offer our students a variety of opportunities.
