Treloar’s has recently been awarded the Stage 3 accreditation ‘Leaders in Diversity’ from the National Centre for Diversity. Few specialist colleges successfully complete this process and, by doing this, Treloar’s can be regarded as the ‘go to’ organisation for advice and training on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and actively promote to partner/supplier organisations its ability to support them with EDI awareness.
The process involved surveying Treloar’s partners and suppliers, interviews and an internal and external verification. After achieving Investors in Diversity last year, it was felt going the next step to achieve Stage 3 accreditation was important as it showed Treloar’s commitment to have a diverse representation of both staff and students and robust inclusive work practices. Treloar’s is already using this knowledge to work with organisations within the local community, including Wetherspoon’s and Hampshire Cultural Trust.
Lorna Woodcroft, Treloar’s Equality & Diversity Coordinator, is thrilled with the accreditation: “I look forward to using this accreditation to give back to our local community”.
