Take on a Virtual Challenge!
Step up for Treloar’s
During these difficult times, it’s important for physical and mental health to keep moving, so why not use your daily exercise to help raise much needed funds for our young people by signing up for our Step up for Treloar’s challenge!
To take part, all you need to do is complete 1,907 steps during your daily exercise outside or at home. This number is to celebrate the year that Treloar’s was first founded. You can do this by taking a short walk locally, going up and down your stairs or even laps around the garden!
Once you have completed your challenge, donate £5 via our JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/step-up-for-treloars and then tag 2 friends on social media to take on the challenge as well. Don’t forget to use #StepUpForTreloars when sharing your posts.
Why we need your help
Our fantastic transport team are truly going above and beyond to ensure our students who are at home have all the equipment, medicine and supplies they need. In April, they have already completed over 100 deliveries and travelled thousands of miles. The team are working around the clock from 5am to midnight, six days a week, to make these deliveries as well as transporting any staff that are supporting students in their homes.
On average, each of these trips cost around £70. Since the beginning of lockdown, that means almost £8,000 has been spent to ensure our students that remain at home have everything they need. These costs are not covered by local authorities funding, and are increasing as more students and their families need our help.
Funds raised through the #StepUpForTreloars challenge will go towards supporting the work of our transport team as they continue to carry out daily deliveries across the country. Thank you for your support!
From Sunday 26 April, the original date for the London Marathon, people are encouraged to take on their own “2.6 Challenge” to help raise vital funds to support charities who are suffering the shortfall of fundraising income from cancelled events.
Whether you can run 2.6 miles during your daily exercise, do 26 minutes of your favourite activity (or any other creative ideas you can come up with), we are encouraging supporters to consider fundraising for Treloar’s to help continue to provide the support our young people need.
Any sponsorship from your challenge can be donated at https://twopointsixchallenge.justgiving.com/get-involved?charityId=143344.
This challenge is running until Sunday 31 May.
Virtual races with Run for Charity
We have teamed up with Run For Charity who are hosting virtual races where you can clock up the miles during your daily exercise (or even at home!), while being sponsored by your friends and family to complete the challenge.
Not only will you be helping to support our students, you will also be awarded a shiny medal once you have completed the challenge.
