Alton College Student Support Assistant

Earning potential of £19,217 per annum, dependent on qualifications (pro-rata to 42 hours per week for part-time staff) Up to 42 hours per week
We are looking to recruit Student Support Assistants to work with students across Treloar and Alton College. Duties will include assisting students with their academic work, including note taking, helping to collect materials for research, photocopying and typing notes/assignments under the direction of the student. You will also be required to assist students in their examinations and assessments which may include scribing.
You will be required to assist (when necessary) the students with their mobility around the College campus and the outside area as well as giving assistance to students with meals during breaks throughout the day and feeding students where necessary. You will also be required to provide the students with support in regards to hygiene and personal care routines whilst at Alton and Treloar College. This role includes a range of shifts including morning, evening and alternate weekends.
Applicants must hold a good standard of general education, which is deemed to be at least to ‘A’ Level (or equivalent) and preferably to higher education standard. They must also have legible handwriting and have the ability to work as a team and relate to young adults and to colleagues. The candidate should also be willing to train to achieve CIEH Level 2 award in Health and Safety in the Workplace qualification.
