£17,870 per annum plus free accommodation & bills
36.5 hours per week plus on call duties
We are recruiting a Caretaker to support the Facilities team to deliver a high standard of building and facilities management and provide an essential & highly responsive out of hours emergency service to staff and vulnerable students across 5 boarding houses, multiple offices & classrooms, 52 weeks of the year.
Your varied duties will put you in contact with students, staff and visitors and will include stores distribution, moving furniture, car park organisation, general maintenance and security. You will also be required to respond to out of hours emergencies such as leaks and intruder alarm activations.
We are looking for a reliable, flexible and adaptable individual with experience in working in a busy environment who has the ability to problem solve and make operational decisions. Applicants should be able to prioritise their workload, be computer literate and cope with the physical demands of the job.
You must have some experience in health and safety practices and hold or be willing to undertake relevant qualifications in areas such as Portal Appliance Testing, Pool Planter Operator, and Working at Heights. Experience of minor building works, site security work, experience in a trade or experience in building maintenance is desirable. This role requires applicants to be willing to live onsite.
