The Occupational therapy team at Treloar’s forms part of our busy and friendly, on-site Therapy department. We work closely with educational, clinical and residential care colleagues across the School and College campus to meet the complex needs of our students. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering treatment programmes for students, as delegated by the Occupational Therapists, to maximize students’ abilities to carry out daily activities that are important to them. For example self-care, accessing class room tasks, wheelchair driving and leisure skills. You will be required to make minor alterations and suggest development of therapy programmes as well as being involved in the monitoring, ordering, provision and use of equipment.
This will include working without direct supervision on a frequent basis and in a range of environments, so a flexible and pro-active approach is essential
Applicants will need to hold a QCF qualification 3 in a relevant area or be willing to undertake a qualification within one year of starting in this role. You will need to have experience of working with children or young adults with physical and/or learning disabilities. Good communication and organisational skills are also essential.
