On Friday 6 March, we were delighted to welcome The Clarion Trio to Treloar's. The performers, Georgina on horn, Oscar on piano and Alessandro on clarion, performed to students from school and college. Everyone enjoyed a range of music composed for the trio.

An encore 'Clarion Call', a jazzy and cotemporary celebration of clarion, was written for the trio by local composer and conductor Chris Gardener.

In the afternoon, the students joined the trio for a workshop led and conducted by clarion teacher, Oliver Squibb. Students enjoyed playing 'Spiring' by Louise Drewett, a piece where we could easily create bespoke parts for the clarion for Treloar's students to play.

The Treloar College Open Orchestra were very excited to be playing with the trio and loved being to collaborate musically with them. It is was a wonderful opportunity for the students to be inspired by these talented role models and think about where their own musical paths might take them.
