This is the sixth year of delivering college Sing and Sign sessions to external organisations, including local schools.
This year, Treloar's Sing and Sign Team has expanded its offer to include work experience opportunities and a carousel programme. This kind of work experience gives students the chance to learn about the full process of creating a professional-looking video.
This includes selecting a song, incorporating Makaton signing, using green screen filming techniques, and developing valuable IT skills.
At the end of the work experience, students are given a chance to visit local schools to deliver a Sing and Sign assembly.
Recently, one of our college students visited two schools, Bushy Leaze and Bordon Infant School where they introduced students to Makaton signs and shared songs from the Sing and Sign YouTube site.
"Wow! We have just had another truly fantastic session. Both the children and the adults enjoyed it just as much as each other, and the energy in the room was brilliant. The enthusiasm from Isabel rubbed off on us, and it left all of us feeling uplifted and inspired."
Ginny Plomer, Senior Early Years Practitioner Bushy Leaze

"To watch these students grow in confidence and gain skills that allow them to enjoy the world of Makaton signing, and share their love of music and enthusiasm with the local community is a privilege."
