Alex

Learn about Alex and how she learned to use her communication device.

College prom, student wearing a blue dress and a pink rose corsage

Alex joined Treloar’s in 2020, just after she had received a new communication device. During the Covid lockdown Alex spent lots of time getting to know her new communication programme and learning where all the vocabulary was stored.

Starting at Treloar’s she was super motivated to make the technology work for her and loved being a part of a community with other young people who use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Since then Alex has really developed her confidence, her conversation skills and is so much more fluent now.

My communication device has changed my life, I used to feel lonely and frustrated, but my Accent device helps me express myself and have more independence
