What has been your biggest motivation during training?

"My biggest motivation in training has been knowing how much all the money raised can do for all the students at Treloar’s. All the educational equipment, therapy and care is so important and I know every penny/every run counts."

How will you celebrate after crossing the finish line?

"A fresh coke zero and carbs - Pizza, chips, garlic bread, I want it all! I hope to meet my husband and family after to celebrate with another fresh coke zero and maybe some bubbles!"

What is on your marathon playlist?

"I have a mixture of 90s, 00s Pop Girl, Dance and RnB - Lots of variety! My finish line song will be Natasha Bedingfield- Unwritten."

Do you have a strategy for tackling the 26.2 miles?

"Breaking it down into smaller runs! 5km warm up, 5km parkrun, Half marathon, 6km fun run & chat my girls, 5km cool down."

Can you share a memorable moment/experience you've had with Treloar’s?

"I came to visit Treloar’s last July for an event to chat to some lovely students about business without barriers and sharing their vision for a more inclusive future for work placements. It was a great event everyone and had a lovely tour of the school and college with Andy seeing the gardens, school and educational resources."

Have you run a marathon before, or is this your first?

"This will be my first — and only — marathon! Ive never really considered myself a runner, despite somehow convincing myself over the years to complete five half marathons and five triathlons."

What has been the most challenging part of your training journey so far?

"The biggest challenge has been dealing with a couple of frustrating injuries during training, which have definitely tested my determination. Im currently recovering from a hip injury, but Ive been committed to keeping my training going with the help of an anti-gravity treadmill!"

Do you have a favourite running route or training spot?

"Having lived in California for the past 11 years, Ive been lucky to make the most of some incredible locations during training. Two standout experiences have been doing one half marathon training run at Disneyland and another at the San Francisco Half Marathon."

Whats your go-to snack or meal after a long training run?

"I like to get my long runs done first thing in the morning so I can reward myself with a delicious breakfast afterwards. Very conveniently, theres also an amazing bakery very close to home for after-run treats!"

How did you first get involved with Treloars?

"I work as a Speech Therapist, and Treloars is where I began my clinical career back in 2011. Its where everything truly started for me. Treloars gave me the foundation, values, and inspiration that still guide me today. Working alongside such dedicated professionals — and supporting such incredible young people — shaped not only the clinician I became, but also the person I am."

How do you explain Treloar’s mission to people who aren’t familiar with it?

"I like to explain that what really sets Treloars apart is its unwavering belief in every students potential, and the extraordinary support provided to help each young person achieve it."
