The annual Friends of Treloar’s Plant Sale saw us welcome over 500 visitors from the local community to enjoy day for all the family at our Outdoor Learning Centre.
Thanks to the generosity and support of our local community, over £8,500 was raised which will directly support our students to access outdoor learning, and create meaningful enterprise opportunities through hands-on experiences in growing and nurturing plants.
Visitors enjoyed an amazing selection of plants, including generous donations from local gardens, alongside locally made produce and family-friendly activities. Music from Cove Brass Band and a visit from Mill Cottage Petting Farm added an extra bit of fun to the day!
“I grew up near Treloar’s, and I enjoyed having the chance to visit the wonderful outdoor learning space–I’m really glad we got to meet some of the students too. The whole family adored the animals from Mill Farm and to top it off we took home some high-quality plants for the garden. A super morning!” Frankie King-Smith
Our students’ stall included handmade crafts, a popular tombola and lucky dip, giving our community visitors the chance to take home something special while supporting student-led enterprise.
We are hugely grateful to everyone who supported the event, including Tozer, Phoenix Perennial Plants, Cove Brass Band and Mill Cottage Petting Farm, as well as our dedicated staff and volunteers. A special thank you goes to the Friends of Treloar’s, and to Iris Lynch, Treloar’s Outdoor Learning Centre Lead, whose hard work helped make the day such a success.
It is thanks to our local community that opportunities like this exist–enabling our students to learn, grow and thrive through outdoor learning and enterprise. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
