Treloar’s toasts staff success with Celebration Evening

Staff

Treloar’s Vocational Training Team hosted their 2nd Staff Celebration Evening just before half term, a fitting opportunity to celebrate the success of staff members who have completed professional qualifications whilst working at Treloar’s.

It was the last day of term and the sun was shining to welcome staff members, their friends and families to share in their success, with reception drinks, a buffet supper, disco and party photo booth.

Principal Martin Ingram and Independent Governor Professor Rob Darracott handed out certificates, recognising the commitment of all staff (and their families) involved. Rob Darracott said:

“For me, this is one of the most important evenings in the Treloar’s calendar. It is great to see many more staff recognised for completing qualifications. Each time I’m on site the commitment, determination and professionalism of the Treloar’s team shines through, so I’m delighted we can support so many individuals in strengthening their careers while enhancing the support, care and opportunities we provide to students every day.”

During the evening staff collected certificates for a whole range of qualifications and subjects including: Level 2 and 3 Diplomas in Care, Residential Childcare, Specialist Support in Teaching and Learning, and Healthcare support.

Individuals also collected awards for apprenticeships and Higher-Level qualifications including Level 5 Diplomas in Education and Training, Level 6 Apprenticeship in Careers Development, National professional Qualifications in Leading Literacy, Level 2 IOSH Managing Safely and MSc in Counselling (children and young people).

Treloar’s places a strong emphasis on continuous professional development, encouraging staff to engage in learning throughout the year. This is supported through termly training days, comprehensive mandatory training programmes, and opportunities to work towards relevant qualifications. In the past year alone, 700 in-person training sessions were delivered across more than 200 subject areas. Clear progression pathways are available, including routes into management roles within residential care, as well as opportunities to transition into positions such as class technician or teacher.

The celebration evening recognised the commitment and dedication of staff who have worked towards qualifications alongside their full-time roles. It was a lovely occasion to celebrate and recognise the dedication of our whole staff team.

Thank you to our host for the evening who generously gave up his time and expertise, Stuart Morrison.

It was a successful evening and thoroughly enjoyable! Great to reconnect with colleagues outside of work time and celebrate academic shared achievements. I believe seeing higher qualifications given out inspires staff with what is possible. A colleague on my table was talking about going on to do more study. The presentation evening made me and others on my table feel valued and Martin’s speech was very much appreciated.

Thank you for the invite to the Award’s evening.  My husband was really impressed at the effort and has a better understanding of the work we do at Treloar’s. As a member of the armed forces he regularly attends and organises awards ceremonies and and thought the evening really showed how Treloar’s values CPD and investing in its staff. It was great to be able to invite him.

Hearing Martin’s speech about how we have some of the most vulnerable students in the country really brought home why we were there and the importance of education.
