"For our students staying in Gloucester House, it’s more than a place to live. It’s a place for finding friendships, discovering independence and building confidence. It’s home."
Double your donation
As students' needs grow, our 40-year-old facilities are struggling to keep up and outdated spaces are making daily life more complex than it needs to be. Bedrooms designed decades ago are now cramped with the modern wheelchairs students rely on, along with the communication aides and feeding devices they depend on.
We’re raising funds to re-develop the bedrooms and bathrooms:
- bedrooms are too small to accommodate large wheelchairs and vital medical equipment
- multiple staff are often needed to provide care in student bedrooms with limited space
- shared bathrooms are away from the bedrooms meaning personal care is long-winded
- students have to be moved from their bed to a hoist and then either to a shower trolley or toilet chair
Plans for the renovation include:
- larger bedrooms
- accessible ensuite or Jack and Jill bathrooms
- ceiling hoists linking bedrooms and bathrooms
- wider door frames to allow for beds and wheelchairs to be easily moved in and out of bedrooms
Thanks to the generosity of one of our donors, every pound you give to our appeal to renovate Gloucester House will be matched - at no extra cost to you.
Please donate today and help us reach our target of £100,000.
"My child is now developing socially with peers and learning to do things in a group for the first time."

From the moment disabled children, young adults and their families start their journey with Treloar’s, they are focussed on life AFTER Treloar’s. From reception age children through to young adult college leavers, our dedicated transition team are there to help every step of the way.
A clear transition pathway, whole family support and the natural flow of our residential and boarding offer creates a resilient, confident and empowered disabled community. Gloucester House offers teenagers and young adults the opportunity to shape their own story as they progress through the school, college and into adulthood.
Should we fundraise for more than the cost of renovating Gloucester House, any remaining donations will be used for planned improvements to other residential properties to support students at key transition stages.
Thank you for your support.
