At Treloar’s we believe in the power of education in its widest context and our residential teams are a central part of this. We are open 38 weeks of the year and offer a range of day and residential placements throughout term time.
"Students flourish in the residential provision due to knowledgeable staff who consistently prioritise their care and well-being. Staff have an in-depth understanding of each student and have high expectations of them, enabling them to achieve beyond expectations"

Many of the young people at Treloar’s require support throughout the day and night – with over half our students staying in our on-site residential houses. The residential staff team provide exceptional care and support for students with complex needs, working closely with Nursing and Therapy teams to provide support 24 hours a day.
We recognise each of the students is a unique individual with their own ambitions, aims and dreams for their future. Regardless of their need, we believe passionately in supporting students to express themselves, communicate with others and make choices and decisions about their lives and care, whilst also having access to a broad range of activities and opportunities.
We support students to develop their independence skills and prepare students for their future. We put a strong focus on recognising and responding to students’ emotional needs, building upon resilience and self-advocacy skills for life – helping students to recognise and develop their own identity and values, while recognising their spiritual and cultural needs.
Our daily schedule of activities provides meaningful experiences that have a wealth of wellbeing benefits, as well as playing a key role in development and learning. We support students to attend and try different activities to develop their social interaction and friendships, promote team work, social inclusion and build students’ confidence. We support students to try new things and help them experience clubs they enjoy, and discover new interests and most of all have fun!
Our onsite activities include a range of activities such as gaming, card clubs, arts and crafts, singing, dancing, kayaking, weekly disco, various sports and many more. Students are actively involved through student council and residential meetings to contribute to which activities are on offer.
"Students are provided meaningful opportunities to express their views and influence their care planning. Staff use creative strategies to ensure that these voices are heard and acted on"
