Supportive Spaces Appeal

Many of our students at Treloar’s require support day and night – with over half of our students staying in residential accommodation. We ensure that every student receives the outstanding care they deserve and for which Treloar’s is known for.

"For our students staying in Gloucester House, it’s more than a place to live. It’s a place for finding friendships, discovering independence and building confidence. It’s home."

Supportive Spaces: Help Transform Gloucester House

At Treloar’s, our Gloucester House residential building is more than just a place to live – it’s a place where young people build friendships, independence, and confidence. But after 40 years, it urgently needs updating.

We’re raising £780,000 to transform Gloucester House into a modern, accessible, and supportive space without limits. And right now, your donation will be doubled thanks to a generous match fund – up to £100,000!

✅ £5 becomes £10

✅ £10 becomes £20

✅ £25 becomes £50

Donate today and double your impact. Help us reach the full match before Christmas and create supportive spaces where every student can thrive.

Thanks to the generosity of one of our donors, every pound you give to our appeal to renovate Gloucester House will be matched - at no extra cost to you.

Please donate today and help us reach our target of £100,000.

Be part of a future without limits

A gift today will help create a space without limits for our students, with special adaptations to make sure they can thrive from the start.

With fully equipped bathrooms and specialist fittings, thoughtfully designed bedrooms and bespoke furnishings and adaptations throughout, Cotswold Wing will give every student more space and time for what matters most to them.

Why we need your help

Many of our students require support day and night, and over half stay in residential accommodation. Gloucester House is a vital part of their journey, but its outdated design makes daily life more complex:

  • Bedrooms are too small for modern wheelchairs and essential medical equipment
  • Shared bathrooms are far from bedrooms, complicating personal care
  • Multiple staff are often needed in cramped spaces

These limitations prevent Gloucester House from being the supportive space our students deserve.

Our Vision for Supportive Spaces

We plan to create:

Larger bedrooms with space for equipment and personalisation

Accessible ensuite or Jack and Jill bathrooms

Improved ceiling hoist systems linking bedrooms and bathrooms

Wider door frames for easy movement of beds and wheelchairs

Improved communal areas for socialising and making friendships

This transformation will give students more space, dignity, and independence – creating a modern, accessible space without limits, that meets the evolving needs of Treloar’s students.

From the moment disabled children, young adults and their families start their journey with Treloar’s, they are focussed on life AFTER Treloar’s. From reception age children through to young adult college leavers, our dedicated transition team are there to help every step of the way.

A clear transition pathway, whole family support and the natural flow of our residential and boarding offer creates a resilient, confident and empowered disabled community. Gloucester House offers teenagers and young adults the opportunity to shape their own story as they progress through the school, college and into adulthood.

Should we fundraise for more than the cost of renovating Gloucester House, any remaining donations will be used for planned improvements to other residential properties to support students at key transition stages.

Thank you for your support.
