PE
The PE curriculum at Treloar’s offers every student a wonderful, sensory experience that is rewarding and fun while promoting good physical, mental and social well-being. PE aims to enable and inspire students to be as physically active and independent as possible, while enjoying a number of sporting and aquatic activities. We offer a dynamic and varied programme that develops students’ knowledge, skills, curiosity and understanding of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Our aim is to enable all students to develop their understanding of the way in which they can use their body, and equipment safely yet imaginatively to achieve self-awareness and resilience when working towards their personal goals, all while having fun.
Through the teaching of PE at Treloar’s all students have the opportunity to explore and enjoy being physically active through the medium of sport, PE and swimming, and we look to enhance their self-esteem by helping them reach their full potential. PE gives students the confidence to communicate their personal needs and thoughts to access activities and therapies confidently while taking a level personal responsibility in their own learning to help them develop a ‘can do’ approach.
We look to promote the idea that through co-operation, collaboration, fair play and competition, students can achieve the best possible outcome and have a meaningful and enjoyable experience of physical activity that enables them to achieve their best, be proud to share those achievements with others, and lead a lifetime of leisure.
