At Treloar School and College we are committed to providing all our students with a comprehensive programme of careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) and work-related learning. Our careers programme helps young people develop the skills to make informed choices and plan for their future.
When we talk about careers, we mean more than just a job; we support students to explore all the opportunities that align with their aspirations, whether supported employment, volunteering, further education, supported living, or active participation in the community.
At Treloar’s, we take a personalised and outcome-focused approach to careers education, tailored to the unique needs of our students. We understand that career goals may look different for our young people, but every goal is equally important and valued.
Our high expectations are matched by a flexible and holistic approach, based on the Talentino model ‘Same & Different’. This means that while our aims—such as independence, choice, community involvement, and wellbeing—are the same as in mainstream settings, the way we support students to achieve them is adapted to suit individual needs.
We focus on helping each student progress at their own pace, towards outcomes that matter most to them.

"I completed work experience at the local secondary school. I enjoyed this, because I like office work and also, I had never considered working in a school before and it gave me an idea of other roles that may be suitable for me."
