ABC Network launch
Treloar’s has joined forces with an Alton-based digital marketing agency, Fruitful Marketing, for the good of local businesses and our community.
James Wright of Fruitful Marketing and Léonie Jackson of Treloar’s will be launching Alton Business Connections—a networking opportunity for local business leaders. Fruitful Marketing is proud to promote the event, which will be hosted at Treloar’s—right in the heart of our community.
Treloar’s, as a charity for disabled young people, offering care, education and independence training, has now expanded its work to include accessibility advice and training for the workplace. Treloar’s aim is to support businesses to promote an inclusive workforce—and the students are getting involved too!
As part of Treloar’s Digital skills for business class, some of the Treloar College students had the idea of auditing local shops, restaurants and businesses for accessibility. They devised a scoring system to include a range of disabilities. Each premises is given an overall score, followed by an accessibility report, including any recommended improvements.
Fast forward a few short months, and with the help of their teacher, Hazel Wark, the Let Me In business is off the ground! One of the first audits they undertook was of Mansion House, owing to Treloar’s longstanding links to the Lord Mayor and the city of London.
A group of Treloar’s Let Me In students will be present at the Alton Business Connections meeting and will be available to take audit reservations. This is just one of the many ways this new network group will support local businesses to be successful, robust and fit for the future. The aim is to give a platform to the many businesses in Alton and the surrounding area, to showcase our region and promote business growth.
The inaugural event will take place on Thursday 18th May, 6-8pm at a cost of just £6 per person, including refreshments. Book your place now so you don’t miss out!
