Alan Titchmarsh presented with grant of £20,000 for Treloar’s
On Thursday, 11th May 2023, The Hospital Saturday Fund held its 16th Annual General Meeting at the Guildhall in London. Alan Titchmarsh MBE made an appearance as their special guest at the event. Following his speech, Alan was presented with a grant of £20,000 for Treloar’s by John Greenwood, Chair of The Hospital Saturday Fund.
Treloar’s has strong and long-standing links with HSF, and we are grateful to them for facilitating this wonderful donation via their AGM. A number of Treloar’s fundraising team members were present, and it was a pleasure to witness the great atmosphere and positive response to Alan’s speech. HSF has supported Treloar’s in many ways over the years, and HSF Health Plan provides pur suite of employee wellness benefits.
Alan Titchmarsh MBE has been Treloar’s Patron since 2000, and since then, he has helped to raise awareness and funds for children and young people at Treloar’s through a range of activities: Alan has hosted charity events, given talks and presentations and even undertaken a sponsored walk to raise money for the School and College.
In 2021, Alan designed a sensory garden for Treloar’s, which was officially opened later that year in July. The garden now serves as a peaceful and therapeutic space for students to relax and enjoy nature. The garden includes a variety of plants, flowers, and features that stimulate the senses, such as water features, fragrant herbs, and colourful blooms. The sensory garden is part of our new Outdoor Learning Centre which includes a fantastic outdoor classroom and accessible changing room, and the grant from HSF will go towards this development.
