Concerts from Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra
On Tuesday 12th July, Treloar’s staff and students were treated to two magnificent concerts from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the members of BSO Resound Ensemble. A group of strings, brass, woodwind and percussion (and LinnStrument) started the day with an open rehearsal where everyone was able to come and sit in the beautifully air-conditioned FT Hall and watch how a professional orchestra makes their music sound so good.
The orchestra then played for the school and college groups in two afternoon concerts. We listened to music from the ‘Hebrides to Padstow’ including composers Handel, Ethel Symth, Arnold as well as Adele and some modern and traditional sea shanties. It was so wonderful to hear live music from such an amazing group of players, and we hope to welcome them back to Treloar’s very soon! One of the primary students said: “This is the best orchestra I have ever heard!” which only proves the importance of live music to the students of Treloar’s.
