Dickens at Treloar’s
In the run-up to Christmas at Treloar’s, Treloar School students had the opportunity to watch a live performance of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol, performed by Quantum Theatre Productions.
The performance was part of our Student Wellbeing and Creative Activities curriculum. Several classes studied the novel last year, and some are also doing it for their GCSE.
It’s great to see Treloar’s students taking part in more and more onsite activities following the last few years of COVID lockdowns and restrictions. Treloar’s staff are working hard on expanding the offer of on and offsite activities. Getting access to see live theatre and performance isn’t easy or straightforward for some of our students, so bringing a festive touring show to Treloar’s is a real treat for everyone. Quantum Theatre Productions ensure their performances are engaging and easily accessible, while remaining authentic to the content, spirit and style of the original play.
After the show, we asked our students about the performance; some of their comments were:
“It is the best production we have had here!”
“Jacob Marley and the ghost at the door were really scary!”
“Only three actors did all of the show. Wow!”
