Giving Tuesday: Livery Companies
Livery Companies: we couldn’t celebrate Giving Tuesday without shining a spotlight on them!
Founded by Sir William Purdie Treloar, Lord Mayor of the City of London in 1907, for over 100 years, Treloar’s has enjoyed and still enjoys today a very close relationship with the City of London and the Mayoralty and the support of over thirty-five Livery Companies.
Of the Great 12, today we enjoy links with the Worshipful Companies of Mercers, Skinners, Merchant Taylors, Salters and Vintners.
We’ve been delighted to welcome some of the newer Livery Companies as supporters to Treloar’s in more recent years and these include the Worshipful Companies of World Traders, Water Conservators, Hackney Carriage Drivers and Tax Advisers.
And there’re the Treloar’s long-standing, faithful Livery Companies with whom we have very close relationships with including, but not limited to, the Worshipful Companies of Barbers, Butchers, Carmen, Chartered Accountants, City Livery, Cooks, Dyers, Lightmongers, Loriners, Makers of Playing Cards, Needlemakers and Wheelwrights.
The Livery Companies’ support comes in a multitude of ways: from gifts in kind, materials, items of protective clothing to funding specialist services and pieces of equipment. Quite simply, wherever you look around our campus the Livery Companies are close by in having made one of their many generous contributions.
Our dietetic services are generously funded each year by The Cooks’ Company, The Wheelwrights have recently funded equipment for our wheelchair driving platform and the Barbers’ Company kindly fund adaptations to wheelchairs. The Glovers’ Company recently donated over 200 pairs of high-quality workwear gloves.
Together, this continued investment from the amazing philanthropic Livery Movement helps Treloar’s successfully develop an ever evolving and invaluable leading-edge services to provide the very best in teaching, learning, professional care, therapy, advice and guidance to enable young disabled people to live the most fulfilling life possible.
Support Us
Treloar’s is so much more than just a school and college.
We are a charity, and right now, around the clock, we are delivering outstanding nursing care, therapy, independence training and education to around 180 disabled children and young people aged 2-25.
Every day we are preparing young people to live as independently as possible and reach their future aspirations.
But we can’t do this without you.
So how can you help?
You could run 5k and get sponsored, take on a challenge of a lifetime, attend one of our fundraising events, organise your own fundraiser, volunteer for Treloar’s, collect donations for us, play TRELOTTERY – the list is endless! Take a look below to get involved.
