Medals for Treloar’s Swim Squad
On Friday 6th October, Treloar School Swim Squad headed to Basingstoke for the Annual Basingstoke Special Schools Swim Gala where they competed against students from across five schools in Basingstoke.
Treloar’s students competed in swim races of varying lengths, and set new personal bests at the gala this year, with everyone competing in a 40m race for the first time. Swimming a variety of strokes, including freestyle, breaststroke, and backstroke, Treloar’s Swim Squad were able to show off their techniques, hard work and positivity throughout the Gala. The Swim Squad are accustomed to practicing in a very warm and relaxing pool at Treloar’s, but overcame the shock of cold water to compete, and came away with medals personally awarded by the Mayor of Basingstoke.
It was a fantastic trip for the students and the staff supporting, with many profound moments as our Treloar’s students achieved amazing outcomes and set new personal bests for distance and time.
