Student Choir teams up with Hart Male Voice Choir for Christmas concert
On Thursday 12th December we hosted our annual Christmas Concert. The Student Choir was joined once again by the Hart Male Voice Choir who performed a melody of Christmas songs to a sold-out audience of supporters.
Guests were entertained and enthralled throughout the evening. A standout part of the concert however was the powerful demonstration of Clarion and how it enables students the opportunity to participate and perform musically regardless of their physical disability. The instrumental with the bells was also brilliantly executed!
Jocelyn Watkins, Treloar’s Director of Music said of the event:
“Music enables our students to achieve way beyond predicted expectations and we were delighted that everyone who came to the concert could witness this and join in with the celebrations.
We were once again joined by the wonderful Hart Male Voice Choir and their Director Kevin Jacot as well as Director of Music at Charterhouse School, Mark Shepherd, accompanied visiting choir as well as Treloar orchestra and choir.
The students were fantastic and demonstrated their remarkable skills in music; it was a beautiful music evening.”
Another notable highlight of the evening was science teacher, Mr Acason, and his exceptionally energetic cameo as Santa Claus complete with a full fleet of prancing staff reindeer. The audience of 150 guests all sung and signed along with great enthusiasm too!
Guests also enjoyed an array of Christmas nibbles alongside their mulled wine and the opportunity for some last minute Christmas card and gift shopping. Overall the event raised over £2,400 in aid of Treloar’s. A very special thank you to YBC Services Ltd who kindly sponsored the event.
