Student hustings results
Student hustings took place last week for the election for new Head students: votes opened on Tuesday and Treloar’s students had time to cast their vote until 4pm on Thursday.
Students were encouraged to think about leadership and reflect on what skills leaders need to draw on. We are particularly proud of the number of Secondary and Sixth Form students who put themselves forward for these positions. During hustings week students designed their own election poster and canvased the school for votes. Voting was opened by a very important guest. The outgoing President, Head and Deputy Head students counted the votes and communicated the results in the whole school assembly.
Our newly elected Head Students will play an important role as ambassadors for Treloar’s and advocates for their peers. They will be expected to attend School council meetings, and support the Head of School in developing student focused policies. They will be expected to help with showing visitors round the school. Throughout the year, they will build self confidence, independence and life skills which they will take on to their future lives beyond Treloar’s.
On Friday, all votes were counted and the results were revealed during the assembly later that afternoon.
