The Dummer Fair raises over £34,000 to support Treloar’s
Held for over 25 years, The Dummer Fair opened its doors this year on the 12th and 13th of October at the Dummer Cricket Centre.
One of the most successful fairs in Hampshire, the fair attracted over 1000 visitors and featured more than 80 stalls. Visitors enjoyed browsing from a huge range of high quality British brands and boutique stalls: offering crafts, fine food, stationary, clothing and beauty products.
As soon as the doors opened on Wednesday afternoon, the Cricket Centre filled up with laughter and chatter. Advance ticket holders enjoyed complimentary drinks and gift bags from the main sponsor, Savills. Guests were able to start their Christmas shopping early or treat themselves, and enjoy speciality food tasting from some of the country’s finest producers.
Some of the guests have been attending the fair for many years and supporting raising funds for Treloar’s. The proceeds from the event support Treloar School and College, one of the UK’s largest specialist centres for young disabled people to live and learn. Treloar’s are a charity committed to a world where young disabled people can take control of their lives and reach their full potential.
One of the stallholders said:
There is always a lovely atmosphere at the fair –the Treloar’s staff and fund raisers are always so cheery and helpful and we all feel their commitment, making it a joy to support a fabulous charity. The younger sister of one of our son’s best friends here in Wales went to Treloar’s and had a wonderfully happy education there. That makes it all the more special.
Savills, has been a supporter of the fair for a long time. Clive Moon, Head of Office at Savills Farnham, said:
We have supported The Dummer Fair for a number of years and feel it is one of the area’s most important annual events due to its support of the extraordinary work of Treloar’s. In supporting children and young adults with physical disabilities, the school has played a pivotal role in the lives of thousands of youngsters over the last century. It is an honour to be involved and to be able to lend our assistance to this fantastic local event and charitable organisation.
Amy Bennet, Events & Community Manager at Treloar’s, added:
The Dummer Fair is an integral part of our annual calendar of events, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone that supports the event. A huge thank you must go to our event committee, event sponsors, stallholders, volunteers, attendees and Dummer Cricket Centre for supporting the event, which raises such vital funds for our students.
Both the Dummer Fair Committee and Treloar’s team were delighted to see returning visitors and stall holders, as well as so many new faces, all contributing towards raising a fantastic amount for Treloar’s. We are so touched by everyone’s support.
