Treloar School & College / News / The Easter Project 2019

The Easter Project 2019

April 10, 2019 / 3:03 pm

We were approached by the local Church and Schools Liaison Officer who invited our students to lead Easter activities for the Easter Project. This involved local primary school Year 3 pupils who would be participating in a number of structured Easter activities. Students with a specific interest in Early Years were identified and it was arranged for three students to attend a morning session at Alton Methodist Church and two students to attend the afternoon session at Holybourne Church. Our students chose different activities they wanted to lead on, such as making an Easter Card, making a clay pot and lid to represent the tomb and an activity to demonstrate Passover.

Each session started with the Easter story being read to the children and they then started the activities. Our student gave instructions at the beginning of the activity and then directed throughout, engaging with the children, and ensuring the activity was completed in the given time. The session concluded with the children singing an Easter song.

Our students enjoyed the sessions and the opportunity to work in the local community.
