Treloar School’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’: songs, smiles, stars ….and quite a bit of sweat!
Over forty students from Treloar School performed in our end of term summer show ‘Beauty and the Beast’ to sell out audiences.
There was much excitement backstage as students got ready for the show in their dressing rooms. The temperature soared alongside their spirits as they transformed into a variety of different characters such as wolves, villagers, a teapot and cup, a duster, a wardrobe, a clock and a candelabra!
The final performances on July 4th and 5th 2018 were the culmination of seven months’ hard work and students really demonstrated their talent, both as individual performers and as part of a team. With striking face paint, magnificent costumes, and the spectacular live band Festival Brass to accompany them, the students thoroughly entertained and ‘wowed’ the audience.
There are many catchy and memorable tunes in the show: audience enjoyed the upbeat song ‘Be Our Guest’ welcoming Belle (played by Sophie) to the castle; the optimistic ‘Human Again’ (led by Lumiere, played by Joe); joined the village mob ready to kill the Beast in ‘The Mob Song’ (led by Gaston, played by Joss) and watched hopefully as the Beauty fell in love with the Beast (played by Dom). As Mrs Potts (played by Sally) sang the title song, all were reminded of the truly important things to value in life.
The whole show was full of energy, fun and talent, demonstrating once again that the sky is the limit in terms of what our students can do. A huge congratulations to all of the students who performed in the show, and to those who helped with costumes, ticket sales, front of house and the AV on the night. A big thank you also to the many staff who worked so hard to support the students in the show. All in all, a highly successful team performance!
