We’re welcoming back our parent and toddler group – and opening up spaces in our Nursery in September 2021
BELONG, the Treloar’s parent and toddler group will be re-opening every Monday from 14th June 2021. We’re delighted to be re-launching and welcoming parents and carers back into the nursery.
Throughout the last year, BELONG has continued to support parents via Zoom, but we can’t wait to see each other again in real life.
BELONG is a weekly activity group for parents of children with complex physical disabilities, which runs every Monday from 9.30-11.30am and caters for up to 6 pre-school aged children and their parent or carer.
The focus is all about the opportunity to learn through play in a therapeutic environment. Our specialist Nursery staff are always on hand to welcome you and to share their expertise and advice as they go. BELONG offers weekly sessions to support and facilitate play and socialisation.
What our parents say
“It is lovely to socialise with other parents who have children with additional needs, who understand what you are going through…it’s good to chat with people who can really relate! There is always a fun planned activity which the children enjoy. To have a cup of tea and a biscuit at the end is just a nice added bonus!”
Zack is one of our Primary School children, who first came to BELONG when he was just 8 months old. For Zack’s mum Amelia, this was the first positive thing they did together as he had been in hospital until then. It was the first sign of ‘hope’ that things for her son could be okay in his world living with a complex physical disability.
Amelia loved that Zack had the opportunity to access craft, mud, jelly and music within a supportive environment. She also loved that he could do the fun things that would normally be taken for granted for a boy of Zack’s age but without BELONG may not be possible because of his disability.
Our Nursery
Amelia feels the Treloar’s Nursery has been paramount to Zack’s progress and well-being:
“I don’t know how I would have coped without their support, as I don’t know of any other groups like it near to home.”
Today Zack is happily settled in Treloar’s Primary School.
“We have found Treloars to be full of opportunity and support for Zack and our family.”
