Treloar’s Secret Midsummer Banquet Ends with a Bang!
Last week Treloar’s hosted its inaugural Secret Midsummer Banquet at The Grange near Alresford, one of Hampshire most iconic heritage properties. Over 140 guests attended the fundraising event, sponsored by Homes Estate Agents. They had a wonderful evening, in spite of the weather, which was held in aid of the disabled young students at Treloar School and College.
The event started with a drinks reception on the portico overlooking the stunning parkland setting. After a warm welcome from the host for the evening, Nick Gough, aka Dickie Dazzler, guests were treated to a fascinating history of the estate, including its D-Day connections, from The Grange Festival Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Michael Chance CBE. Michael also showcased his operatic skills with a short acapella performance of “Tea of Two”.
Dinner was then served inside the Grange itself, full of faded grandeur and atmosphere. The sumptuous three course meal was accompanied by a silent auction and raffle. Proceedings ended with a fabulous fireworks display back outside and ensured the evening ended with a bang. All funds generated from evening will goes towards Treloar’s annual fundraising target, which is currently around £2 million every year.
The event would not have been possible without the support and generosity of many local businesses and supporters. Headline sponsor Homes Estate Agents were also very active in promoting the event in the months leading up to it. Rob Barr, Director of Homes Estate Agents, said “There can’t be many more deserving charitable causes than Treloar’s. The whole Homes team love being involved in the efforts to raise funds for them and it’s so motivating for all of us to know that, in doing so, we really are helping to make a difference.”
Thank you to everyone who attended and all our sponsors who made this a fabulous evening.
