Walk for Treloar’s raises over £3600
Over 60 enthusiastic walkers took part this year and walked a grand total of over 282 miles altogether, all sporting their striking green Walk for Treloar’s tee shirts and helping to raise awareness and vital funds for our students.
Walkers could choose between four routes including an accessible route, a family walk, a five mile and an eleven mile circuit, following the Six Hills of Alton route, all starting from the piazza at Treloar’s. With expert walk leaders from the Alton Walking Festival to guide the route, everyone returned safely to a welcome cup of tea and refreshments in the piazza. Thank you to Paul, Sarah, Claire and Danny for keeping us all safe.
The weather was dry and strolling the rolling hills of Alton allowed lots of opportunity to chat with participants. Miranda was walking in memory of three generations of her family who had links with Treloar’s and to celebrate her 60th Birthday. She had asked her family to donate to her Just Giving page in lieu of giving her 60th Birthday gifts.
Stacy one of our residential house team leaders was walking with her children and their grandparents for a family day out. Annette, an executive assistant from Treloar’s was walking with friends.
All participants received a free Walk for Treloar’s water bottle and Tee shirt. The route markers were all supported by ILS Case Management.
“We absolutely loved the walk thank you! It was so well organised and our walk guides Paul, Sarah and their son were such lovely people. We heard the bells ringing at Holybourne and larks singing on the hills – absolutely brilliant! You can count me in for next year!”
