Giving Tuesday: Trusts and Foundations

On Giving Tuesday, we are not forgetting about Trusts and Foundations. Each year Treloar’s is supported by around 60 Trusts and Foundations. These generous donors not only support the running costs of the charity but also allow us to purchase specialist equipment and provide life-enhancing activities for our students. One of our fabulous donors is the Rotherwick Foundation who has supported us over several years. A Trustee from the Foundation recently came for a visit and said:

Having heard so many positive comments about the School and the College from other people, our visit confirmed and reinforced these most emphatically. To say that you are all doing an amazing job is simply an understatement, and the very evident dedication, care and sheer humanity which pervades the entire establishment is humbling to witness.

We feel truly honoured to hear these words, but quite honestly, we could not undertake our work in this way without the support of the Trusts and Foundations each year. Over the last year, Trusts and Foundations have helped us to redevelop our swimming pool, start building a fabulous new classroom in our Outdoor Learning Centre, purchase Parker Baths for our residential houses, buy specialist equipment such as communication devices, hoists, swimming pool changing beds and Tiny Trax wheelchairs together with providing both fun and educational experiences for our students.

Your support makes such a difference

Although our students receive baseline funding from local authorities, we must raise around £2 million every year to continue to meet all their needs and to provide a first class service and education to our young people.
